What is Soroptimist Girls of the Year?
Each year, Soroptimist International of Delano contacts the head counselor at each high school in Delano & McFarland area to select a ‘Girl of the Year’ for each grade level.
We ask the schools to choose girls who are the biggest overcomers—the most improved students who have overcome the greatest hurdles and struggles.
We look for girls who, despite the difficulties they have faced in the past year, have made a remarkable comeback.
